New Health Services for Caldwell First Nation

We are pleased to announce that the Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre (SOAHAC) has opened a health clinic at the Caldwell First Nation office at 14 Orange Street, Leamington.

Grace Lasala, Nurse Practitioner, will provide the clinic’s health services on Wednesdays. For those who are unfamiliar with this role in the health care system, Nurse Practitioners examine patients, diagnose illnesses, provide counselling and education, write prescriptions, order lab tests and refer to specialists when necessary. Nurse Practitioners are knowledgeable about managing chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure; treat episodic illnesses such as ear infections and colds; and provide preventative health care such as pap tests, referrals for mammograms, bone density tests and colon cancer screening. Nurse Practitioners work with other members of the health care team including physicians, Traditional Healers, dietitians and social workers to make sure you get the best care possible.

To book an appointment to see Grace, call 1-844-737-0725. Drop-in visits are welcome – we’d love to meet you!
