Request for Proposal (RFP) for Preferred Legal Counsel Services
The Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre (SOAHAC) is requesting interested candidates submit a proposal to SOAHAC to be considered as a preferred vendor for legal services, as well as a trusted advisor.
The successful candidate(s) will offer advice and steer decisions based on sound legal advice according to SOAHAC’s legal rights and obligations, prepare legal documents, represent SOAHAC and its employees during litigation (including preparation of SOAHAC staff for litigation), opine on SOAHAC policies as necessary, and perform other legal duties as required by the organization.
Preferred vendor(s) will be selected based on ability to provide legal services and advice on an ongoing basis. Legal services include, but are not limited to:
- Labour and employment
- Litigation
- Privacy
- Health Law
- Financial Law
- Property and Personal Injury
- All legal concerns around operations of both the Childcare Centre and Health Clinics
The successful candidate should be committed, culturally aware, and knowledgeable: providing a wide range of legal services to SOAHAC as an organization, and its staff. SOAHAC would prefer to enter into an agreement with a single firm, however, given the breadth of services required, there may be multiple successful vendors identified through this process aligned with the applicant’s expertise and overall proposal.
Proponents must submit their responses by August 30, 2024.
